About the event
Connected By Design: A Night for Design-Focused Teachers is a collaborative evening for secondary and post-secondary educators teaching in STEAM disciplines—specifically those in architecture, engineering, and design. Hosted by the Industrial Design faculty at the College for Creative Studies (CCS), in partnership with the Oakland Architecture, Engineering & Design referent group, this event provides a space for teachers—often the only one in their district or program—to connect, collaborate, and share ideas.
This informal gathering is designed to foster meaningful conversations around classroom strategies, real-world projects, design thinking, and hands-on learning. Attendees will explore ways to bring creativity and innovation into their curriculum while building a supportive community of like-minded professionals.
The evening will include opportunities to tour CCS’s design spaces, and open networking to exchange best practices, resources, and inspiration. Connected By Design highlights the power of connection among educators working at the intersection of creativity, technical skill, and problem-solving.
