About the event
Cup of Sugar, is a collaborative exhibition demonstrating the importance of care, support, collaboration, and neighborliness within and across two institutions, PASC Detroit and Signal-Return. Featuring artwork produced by artists facilitated by both organizations, as well as the artwork of staff members of each organization, the curators intend to show the interconnected nature of the community of support and aesthetic parallels driving these important cultural institutions, fueling their contributions to the Detroit arts community. The artwork will be mixed across both organizations galleries, creating a two part adjacent exhibition. This inclusive exhibition features artists with and without diagnosed disabilities and/or mental health differences. This show is curated by Lynne Avadenka, director and Joel Grothaus Studio Manager both of Signal-Return; alongside Anthony Marcellini, Founder and Manager of PASC. Both PASC Detroit and Signal-Return are the two anchor non-profit tenants in the newly developed Detroit Lantern Building.
