About the event
The Free Market of Detroit (FMoD) celebrates 10 years of building community with this pop-up event, featuring a clothing swap and hands-on workshops on tailoring, upcycled jewelry making, and plant-based dyes. Hosted at Oakland Avenue Urban Farm - Detroit's first community land trust - the activation will also showcase a photo exhibit reflecting on FMoD's decade of swapping goods, stories, and fashion upcycling techniques.
Come and see plans for the future of FMoD - including a new, sustainable brick and mortar space - as well as images of Oakland Avenue Urban Farm and the North End neighborhood. Guests can visit the OA farmer's market, meet with local artisans, enjoy a live DJ in the farm's Arts Alley, and talk with members of this uniquely designed space.
