About the event

How do you reimagine a city that is steeped in history? How do you honor the innovative projects that are under way to attract more creativity, culture, nature, and design? Community building is key. Honoring and attracting the skills and vision of the people who love this city and want to see Detroit and its surroundings flourish. For the first time in history Detroit has shown a population growth and has proven itself to be a sustainable and desirable city – by design.   

This event consists of two parts.

Part 1

Be Original Americas Workshop

  • Kirt Martin - Chief Innovation Officer, Landscape Forms. 

About Be Original Americas

Be Original Americas is a non-profit advocacy movement committed to informing, educating, and influencing manufacturers, artisans, design professionals, academics, media, and consumers about the economic, ethical, and environmental values of authentic design.   The organization hosts events throughout the year in the United States and Canada at various design firms, universities, and trade shows in order to educate the industry and consumers about the importance of original design. Events include panel discussions, workshops, CEU presentations, and more.
