Sequence

We are pleased to present an exhibition of new work by Detroit-based artist and arts educator Kim Harty. Harty is developing a new body of work exploring the unique gene sequences of genetic "disorders" and anomalies. Creating works that are inspired by the great Italian glassmaker Carlo Scarpa, Harty is also inspired by genetic research and the climate of our current culture Harty creates works that literally build the codes, fusing and slumped glass into sculptural and functional bodies.
