About the event
Detroit’s creative identity has always been shaped by the intersection of art, design, engineering, and manufacturing. The automotive industry transformed the city into a global center of innovation, while generations of artists, designers, architects, musicians, and makers built a creative culture defined by craftsmanship, experimentation, and bold ideas.
Art & Cars brings these parallel histories together, presenting original artwork alongside iconic automobiles and exploring the connections between art, design, and mobility. Presented during Detroit Month of Design, the exhibition celebrates a shared spirit of innovation and creativity while looking toward the people and ideas shaping Detroit’s creative future.
Located in the Entrance One space, the exhibit puts three GM concept vehicles built with unusual colors, materials and finishes alongside original 2D and 3D work by Detroit artists. The concept vehicles on display are the Buick Wildcat, the Cadillac SOLLEI and the GMC HUMMER X pickup.
A special exhibition presented by GM in collaboration with Bedrock and ArtClvb.
