About the event
An Exhibition & Reception celebrating young artists from CAP's out-of-school programs across Detroit
Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) Directors, Larry Lunsford and Lynn Blasey selected 50 artworks created by K-12 students in community-based out-of-school programs for the Director's Choice Exhibition. The artworks were professionally prepared for exhibit and the exhibit & reception were designed/planned by CAP's Bloomberg High School Arts Interns with the support of CAP's Exhibition Coordinator. Young artists and their families will be present to talk about their art and experiences in CAP programs, they will also receive awards packages and be celebrated for their artistic achievement. After the event, the artwork will be installed at the Skillman Foundation headquarters for a calendar year before being returned to the young artists.
