About AP:
A Southern California native, Antoine Phillips (AP) is a visionary strategist and culture builder with over seventeen years of experience at the intersection of brand, creativity, and impact.
Bringing a fresh, cross-sector perspective to organizations seeking global relevance, Phillips has shaped the trajectory of heritage brands including Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Coach, and Gucci. Notably, during his tenure at Gucci, Phillips was a driving force behind the Gucci Changemakers Program, a multi-million dollar impact fund supporting scholarships, nonprofit grants, and the Detroit Art Wall mural project. Now rooted back in Southern California, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (ICA LA), where he champions the connection between culture and community.
Beyond fashion, AP is deeply invested in the City of Detroit’s creative ecosystem. He actively engages with the local economy as a member of the Design Core Detroit Creative Economy Council and drives strategic growth through city initiatives to amplify grassroots creatives and youth. He also serves on the Special Projects Council for the Motown Museum Capital Campaign Grand Opening Committee, ensuring Detroit’s historic impact meets a bold, innovative future.
Through his leadership, Phillips remains a dedicated advocate for uplifting young creatives and bridging the gap between global brands and local creative communities.
