The Arab American National Museum invites you to join us for the opening reception of our upcoming exhibition, The Art of Spiritual Enlightenment, featuring the work of renowned interior painter Harout Bastajian. For nearly 30 years, Bastajian's work could only be seen on the walls and domed ceilings of churches and mosques across the Arab world and in the United States. His dedication to intentional design and practice resonates throughout his body of work.
Harout Bastajian is a renowned Lebanese muralist of Armenian descent, celebrated for his large-scale works that blend traditional arabesque patterns with intricate geometry and natural motifs. Drawing from both cultural heritage and mathematical precision, his art reflects a deep sense of unity, order, and beauty.
