About the event

Exhibition Open to the Public: September 10-October 17, 2026

A reception for the artists will be held on Friday, September 18, 5-8pm.

David Klein Gallery is pleased to present UnRelated, curated by Detroit-based designer Jack Craig.

The core theme of the show is rooted in collaboration, designed to examine the processes, opportunities, challenges, tensions, and possibilities that emerge when creators work together. By gathering a carefully curated group of artists and designers the exhibition will highlight a diverse spectrum of artistic perspectives. Some are deeply accustomed to collaborative workflows and others maintain strictly individual practices. Featured artists include Ebitenyefa Baralaye & Evan Fay, Nina Cho & Jack Craig, Dee Clements & Seth Keller, Toomas Toomepuu & C Hancock, Iris Eichenberg & Alberte Tranberg, James Anthony Haddrill Alexander Buzzalini and Chris Shanck, and Wes Taylor & Tony Hope.

The resulting collaborative works take on a variety of compelling forms, ranging from simultaneous co-creation and exquisite corpse-style sequential processes to cross-interventions on existing objects and other experimental formats deeply connected to the theme.

UN SUSTAINABILITY GOALS

We use Detroit's UNESCO City of Design designation as a call to action for Detroiters to embrace the Sustainable Development Goals in their own communities, contributing to the active effort of solving global interconnected issues.
