YayaLand Takeover IV

YayaLand Takeover IV is a new installation along the Southwest Greenway by artist Yazmin Dababneh, right in between the historic Michigan Central train station and the brand new Riverwalk extension at the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park. This walkway has been transformed into an immersive, colorful environment that engages visitors on a sensory and emotional level. Using color as its primary medium, this project explores how light alone can shape atmosphere, influence movement, and uplift mood.

About the Artist: Yazmin Dababneh is an interdisciplinary, Detroit-based artist who focuses on creating sculptural work as well as immersive and interactive experiences. She has developed a material language by constantly combining and remixing various processes to visualize metaphysical concepts such as the nature of reality and quantum entanglement.
