Art in the Garden: Create & Take

Discover the beauty of art and nature at Art in the Garden: Create & Take, a free, hands-on workshop designed for school-aged youth and their parents or caregivers. Set in a vibrant community garden, this free, interactive workshop invites families to explore the natural world through creativity while learning how art can inspire environmental stewardship.

Participants will create one-of-a-kind visual art projects using flowers, leaves, seeds, recycled materials, and other nature-inspired elements. Guided by professional art educators from the Detroit Art Teachers Association (DATA) and Peers Responding to Overlooked Matters in Social Environments (PR²OMiSE), families will discover artistic techniques, explore the importance of planting, and learn simple ways to care for the environment at home.
