Black Culture Across Borders Panel Conversation Exhibition Opening to Follow
Design Moves the Future brings together contemporary work by Detroit designers and artists exploring how design responds to the present while creating possibilities for what comes next.
Featuring work by Christian Najjar, Taylor Childs, Bella Kiser, Elonte Davis, Patrick Ethen, Bre'Ann White, Lizz Cardwell, Simon Anton and Nur Saltik, the exhibition spans disciplines, materials and approaches. Archival works connect Detroit’s design legacy to the ideas, experiments and practices shaping its future.
The exhibition opens immediately following Design Moves the Future, a panel conversation presented in partnership with Cultured Magazine from 1:00–3:00 PM on September 13. Together, the conversation and exhibition bring the 2026 Detroit Month of Design theme to life, looking at where Detroit design has been, where it is today and where it might go next.
