Discarded + Thread: An Act of Seeing

A Solo Exhibition by Elizabeth Salonen. Discarded plastic packaging is transformed into ceramic vessels, bas-relief sculptures and architectural tiles in Discarded Series. Thread Series invites stillness through hand-embroidered works on canvas.

Discarded transforms disposable plastic packaging into permanence. Cast in plaster and ceramic, the overlooked forms of everyday objects - blister packs, cookie sleeves, clamshells - become ceramic vessels, bas-relief sculptures, individual castings and architectural tiles. Disposable by design, rebirthed into art.

Thread asks you to surrender to stillness. Created through slow, deliberate stitching, these hand-embroidered works on canvas are a meditative counterpoint to overstimulation.

Together, the works are an invitation toward presence - in how we see, and in how we make.
