Join us for an engaging conversation with prominent design curators Andrew Satake Blauvelt, Director, Cranbrook Art Museum; Katherine White, Curator of Design, The Henry Ford; and Shelley Selim, Curator of Automotive, Industrial, and Decorative Design, Detroit Institute of Arts.


These three curators will discuss interesting updates to their collections and illuminate the differing collecting strategies of a contemporary art museum, American history museum, and an encyclopedic art museum, each with an emphasis on design in the U.S.



The panel discussion occurs on the closing weekend of the Cranbrook Museum's exhibition Eventually Everything Connects: Mid-Century Design in the U.S. This large-scale survey of one of the most important and persistent movements of modern design in the United States shines a light on Cranbrook’s pivotal role in its development.
