Sep 19, 2026, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Hope for Flowers by Tracy Reese, 119 Garfield St Ste 500, Detroit, MI 48201, USA
About the event
Hope for Flowers is excited to host an interactive discussion around sustainable fashion in tandem with a sample sale in our Midtown design studio. Founder Tracy Reese will facilitate an engaging discussion, delving into the challenges and innovations driving a more sustainable future for the fashion industry. Detroit is uniquely primed to be a hub in the future of sustainable fashion, and we hope this event sparks new ideas, partnerships, and action in our city.
Hope for Flowers founder Tracy Reese will lead a talk on sustainable design principles and processes supported by members of our Design Team. The team will delve into the sustainability challenges faced by ethical brands and the innovations that leaders in the fashion industry are shepherding to design a better future. We'll also spotlight brands and organizations on the forefront of making Detroit a hub for sustainable garment production.
Participants will have a chance to learn about the big picture while investigating their own habits, drawing attention to ways they might become more mindful consumers.
In parallel, we'll host a sample sale in our design studio, showcasing sustainable garments from our own line, alongside other local + sustainable brands and artisans.
UN SUSTAINABILITY GOALS
We use Detroit's UNESCO City of Design designation as a call to action for Detroiters to embrace the Sustainable Development Goals in their own communities, contributing to the active effort of solving global interconnected issues.
